Far out in the Archipelago of Øygarden is a placed called Lutatangen. A long tip goes stragith into the ocean at quite a low level. Extreme winds — as the one I have experienced at 20 metres in the second — makes this place feel quite special, and dangeroous. At the very end, the North Sea crashes into the rock formation, and thus creating an amazing splash.

The framing obscures the 20 meter clearing behind. Even still, the splash from the waves can be great.

Parking

There is a dedicated parking area for Lutatangen along the road.

Since the main road is tight, one cannot ditch the car on the road side if the parking area is full.

The Trail to Lutatangen

The start line is right behind the parking area thorugh a gate. After that, follow the path. Consolidate with a map to have a better understanding where to go, as the path will be harder to follow the furter out you go.

Stonehouse Checkpoint

Since the path can be a bit hard to spot due to the terrain, there will be an old stonehouse along the path.

The stonehouse might be hard to see as it blends into the environment.

Lutatangen

The location is actually quite far out. Further than one might think. You can see here in this image where it is. The location won´t reveal itself until you also stand more or less in the same spot.

When you make yourself further out, you will also get quite close to the sea. There is of course a safer path further in the middle, but part of the charm of Lutatangen is the closeness to the sea.

Be cautios of the sea. The Southern long side is quite reliable compared to the Northern long side.

The best spot worth standing at is where the person in this picture above is standing. Its quite safe from the waves, but you will definetly have a hard time getting a foothold due to the wind. I reccomend sitting down.

The Big Splash

To get the big splashes it´s reccomended to go there on a nice day after a severe storm. The ocean will be in turmoil and a lot of power and tension has been build up.

The picture above was indeed taken from a safe distance to the edge. However, we miscalculated the sheer power of the sea and god an extreme splash which encapsuled the person in the picture.

The key is to get the framing right — even at safer distances. The waves comes quite unpredictally. The person in this picture and I stood prepared for roughly 5 minutes, with camera ready.

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!
